Facebook Bans Web 2.0 Suicide Machine
If you haven't heard of Web 2.0 Suicide Machine, here is a description from their about page
Liberate your newbie friends with a Web2.0 suicide! This machine lets you delete all your energy sucking social-networking profiles, kill your fake virtual friends, and completely do away with your Web2.0 alterego. The machine is just a metaphor for the website which moddr_ is hosting; the belly of the beast where the web2.0 suicide scripts are maintained. Our service currently runs with Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and LinkedIn! Commit NOW!
Basically it's a service that lets you wipe out any traces that you may have left on the web. Your late night party pictures on Flickr to dirty tweets that you tweeted while you were drunk, everything gone. But after users started removing their traces and friends from Facebook, it seems like Facebook had to put a stop to this mass suicide attempt. This comes not long after Facebook banned the "Burger King" app that suggested you drop friends to win a free burger.
We'll see how this all pans out. As for now, it seems like Facebook has put a stop to the so called "internet suicide" attempts.
